We regularly organise a Thesis Week to help students who are struggling to work on their thesis. The goal of Thesis Week is to help you get started, stay motivated, and focus. Working together with a writing tutor as well as a small group of other students who are in the same boat will give you an incentive to work regularly and effectively.

How does it work?

During Thesis Week you will meet your group twice a day to make a plan for the day, discuss your progress, and get advice and support. Throughout the week you will also have the opportunity to ask your tutor questions individually.
Thesis Weeks are offered online or on location. You are asked to indicate a preference when applying for the Thesis Week. Please note that it may not be possible to honour your preference, depending on availability.

All students of the University of Amsterdam are welcome: the only requirement is that you are working on your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis.

Are you writing your thesis in Dutch, or would you prefer a Dutch-speaking thesis group? Visit the Schrijfcentrum page.

Online registration opens about two weeks beforehand (mark your calendar to avoid disappointment, as there are usually more applications than spots).

Upon filling out the application form, you will be requested to pay a deposit of €50,-. This fee will be reimbursed to you if you meet the attendance requirements. A place is only reserved after receipt of the deposit has been confirmed by the Writing Centre.

Conditions for participation
