Frequently Asked Questions

On this page you can find the answer to frequently asked questions.

If you can't find your answer below, feel free to contact us.

  • How can I submit an application for a Dutch language course?

You can find an overview of our courses here. When you select the course of your choosing you will find an application form at the bottom of the page.

  • When is the application deadline for your Dutch language courses?

We advise you to finalize your registration at least four weeks in advance of a course to make the most chance on placement. However, we do not hold an application deadline for our courses. As long as there are places available we will accept your application.

  • Can I pay for your courses with DUO integration loan?

The INTT is accredited the Keurmerk ‘Blik op Werk’ which means it is possible to pay for our language courses with a DUO loan. If you have a DUO loan, please upload the requested documents with your application form. For more information about borrowing money from DUO, please visit their website here .

  • How do I know what level to select on the application form? Will there be a level assessment?

When filling out the application form, please select the level you think most represents your current command of the Dutch language. Upon payment of the course fee you will receive an invitation to the online level assessment test. This test will determine what level you will be starting the course on and may differ from your own input during the application.

  • Can INTT help me arrange visa and accommodation?

    Visa
The government of the Netherlands requires anyone from outside the EU to hold a visa. Please visit www.ind.nl for more information about obtaining a visa for the Netherlands. The INTT cannot assist you in obtaining a (student)visa, nor is it possible to obtain a visa on the ground of a proof of registration in one of our courses. Obtaining a student visa is possible if you decide to enter a Dutch taught study program at the University of Amsterdam. Once accepted in such a program, the UvA can assist you in obtaining a visa for the period you will learn the Dutch language at the INTT. Please contact the Student Service Desk of the UvA for more information.

    Accommodation
Unfortunately the INTT cannot assist you in finding accommodation during your stay in Amsterdam.

  • Do the courses take place on location or online?

In general, our courses all take place on location, unless specified otherwise on the course page and application form.

  • When will I receive the result of my level assessment test?

After you have paid the course fee, you will be invited to the level assessment test, which is mandatory for new students.

In the confirmation letter it is stated when the schedule will be available on our website. This is usually a few days before the course. On the schedule you will be able to find the result of your level assessment test, as well as the room number(s) for your course and the name of your teacher(s).

  • Is the cost of the textbook included in the course price?

The price of the book is not included in the course price. Students are required to make sure they have a copy of the book, including valid web license, before the start of the first class.
