The Winter Course is a three-week, full-time programme that can be taken at the Absolute Beginners (CEFR A1) or at the Beginners (CEFR A2) level. In three weeks, with 16 contact hours and 16 homework hours per week, the student obtains knowledge of the basics of the Dutch language.
We offer a similar three-week programme in August: the Summer course, which can be taken at all levels up to Advanced (CEFR B2).
In order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19, the University of Amsterdam has limited the possibilities for on-campus education. Therefore, all courses at the INTT will be offered through distance learning up to the summer of 2021. For these classes a stable internet connection and the option for video calling is mandatory.
A distance learning lesson consist of two parts:
Together these parts add up to a four hour lesson.
The teaching practice and didactic approach have been adapted to the extraordinary circumstances we are now living in, the course content and learning outcomes have not changed.
This course is designed for Absolute Beginners and Beginners (CEFR* levels: 0-A2).
